Lighting:

Currently I am using two metal halide lights in 24" wide hydroponic reflectors. These are supplemented with four 24" VHO actinic lights. Surprisingly this arrangement seems to light the tank fairly well.

The lighting currently consists of a 175 watt XM 10K driven on magnetic ballast on one side and a 400 watt Aquaconnect 14K over-driven on a PFO HQI ballast on the other. The original plan was to house softies and LPS corals on one side of the tank and SPS on the other. This has since changed and I plan to install two 250 watt metal halides this summer.

Two 24" VHO actinic lights were mounted on either side of the MH hoods.

Installed above the tank and ready to go. Plastic was hung over the tank to ensure that nothing fell into the tank while installing the lights.
