The Stand and Woodwork...

The stand is built into an old closet in the entryway to my home. The upper portion of the stand is lined with aquatile, which is an acrylic lined product that is fairly moisture resistant to help with the humidity found above the tank.

The stand was built with standard 2"X6" to make the deck where the tank sits. It was then supported with doubled up 2"X4"s. It was later painted with moisture resistant paint.

The initial building of the support structure. The majority of the wood was recycled from the old 450 gallon stand to save on cost.

The upper section of the recess is lined in aquatile to help with moisture and humidity.

Holes for the closed loop were then cut into the wall. The closed loop pump and some other items actually sit on the other side of the wall, in the garage.

The tank was then slid into place. It took four of us and a homemade jig to get it into place.

The tank was then trimmed and is awaiting doors and a few other finishing touches to the woodwork.

Still waiting for the final touches...
